Chapter thirty-four is in the queue for you to read. It is a long chapter, so be forewarned. This chapter is different from what I have written before. James and his family return to their roots and find that they have changed during their time in Washington. Others from their past, however, are not accepting of these changes. Though hurt and disappointed, James and his family must accept their new reality. They are no longer from the Midwest; they are now residents of Washington and must embrace those changes.
It had finally happened: James Mercer’s team was out of work. The US President and the various agencies had exhausted their list of tasks for the group. So, what now? Would they be disbanded and sent off to find new jobs? Was this the end of a team that had not only worked together but had become like family? Not exactly. In recognition of their outstanding service, they were granted a three-week paid vacation.
This chapter is short and serves as a setup for even more exciting events in the coming chapters. If you're looking for action, you might be disappointed this time. But don't worry—more is on the way, and you'll just have to keep reading to find out what’s next.
Chapter 32 is in the Queue to be loaded. I am deeply appreciative that my editor is hopefully improving that we can continue the story line. This chapter is one of my favorites that I wrote. It took a lot of imagination and research to come up with the tale and writing it was fun. Von
I have been surprised by the number of readers who have emailed me encouraging to continue Trust but Verify. The truth is the story hasn't been abandoned, and it is complete just waiting for my editor to be healthy again. He recently went through a serious medical procedure and is in the process of recovering. When he is up to it, the story will continue.
For those interested, about two thirds of the story has been posted. Please be patient and we should have the next installment ready soon.
James Mercer's experiences aren't ending just yet. There is a third volume in the works I am calling the Sandbox and it should be ready for posting late summer or next fall. I think it will be just as interesting as this one has been to write and read.
So please be patient and send some kind thoughts towards my editor as he heals.
Von
Chapter 31 is in the queue. James Mercer and his team love the UK and their work. The work has been challenging and rewarding, but everyone is ready to go home. No one is sure but it looks like their time in England has run its course, that is if the USSR's leadership and the United States' President can agree on terms. The way it is going though, there are no guarantees.
