About That RV Stuff....

Posted at Updated:

I wanted to write a quick note here and thank the five people who have written to me offering assistance and advise about RV's for a new "Road Trip" story.

I still plan to do it, I even kinda/sorta started the story but it has now been shifted to the back burner for the moment in hopes of finishing something else.

I have a story that is almost 50,000 words, almost 100 pages, now and is probably more than half done. I am doing my level best, ladies and gentlemen, to focus all possible attention on that story. I am not writing anything else until I have got this one finished and posted. Or until I become so frustrated that I scoop up my new laptop and throw it against the wall (if I get lucky, It'll take out the cat too :) )

Anyway, I wanted to thank those who wrote and gave me info about RV's and apologize for taking up your time, then not using the information you sent. It really and truly was appreciated and once I finish this new story, I may return to working on it, so you may hear from me yet.

This is a first....

For the first time I am asking my readers, or Stories online members, for assistance. I am sort of/kind of working on a new Roadtrip story. Not a sequel, it's a whole new idea. All new characters. It's just in the planning stages right now so don't expect anything posted anytime soon. If it goes like normal, I'll get to about page 50 and then run headlong into a brick wall so.... Let's hope not. :)

But, since I am trying. I need information. What I would like is for someone who knows something about RV's to write me a nice long e-mail telling me all about an RV. A link to a picture and a blueprint would be nice.

I want something self-contained, not a trailer. I don't need a description of the RV, I can get that from the pictures and the blueprint.

What I need to know are details:
Can you get cable or satellite TV while the RV is in motion? If so, how?
Do they come with dishwashers? A clothes washing machine? (Is it me, or do both the dishwasher and the wash machine seem like real bad ideas? Machines, full of water, in a moving vehicle?)
Is there a special license you need to drive one?
Do the dealerships offer classes?
Do you have to be a certain age to drive one?
What about insurance? Will insurance cover an 18 or 19 year old kid driving around in an RV?
How much water will the RV hold?
How long will it last, on average?
How often do you have to empty the "waste"?
How much gas do they take? How many gas tanks do they have and what's the mileage like? (something beyond "Sucks" would be appreciated :) )
I know running the engine will charge the batteries which will keep the lights on but how long will the lights stay on if the engine isn't running?
Those silly little things that will add authenticity to my story since I have spent about 10 seconds of my life in an RV. :)

Price is not really a concern here because of how the story is going to be written but I don't want anything too extravagant. Near the top of the line but off-the-shelf so to speak. If I get e-mails from more than one reader, I will use the one who gives the best descriptions but might use details offered up by others.

Thank you, in advance.

SLuT9 Concluded.

Chapter 13 looks good. Not saying it's perfect, I wouldn't risk that kind of karma, but it should be readable now.

Oh, and my apologies to those who saw "SLuT9 Part II", my previous blog entry, and thought a sequel was on its way.

While I am writing, I have about 30,000 words of a story written right now, It is NOT a sequel.

Thanks to everyone for the offers of assistance and thank you all for reading.

A new chapter 13 (It had to be chapter 13. I should know better.) A new chapter 13 has been sent. Hopefully, this time, it will work correctly and come out looking right. I apologize for the issues and want to thank the person who wrote and offered to send me an already edited copy of the chapter/story. I do appreciate the offer.

Hi,

Last night I sat down and read, or is it re-read, my story, SLuT9. I read it on the site. While I noticed a few small errors, I just let most of them go. Chapter 13 however had A MASSIVE formatting error and a conversation between David and Jennifer got all mashed together with no line breaks. I quickly went into my "completed stories" folder, pulled out "SLuT9" Chapter 13 read through it, made sure it looked good, then submitted it to fix the problem. I just checked on it and my resubmission of the chapter seems to have made the issue WORSE! I am trying to fix it and HOPEFULLY will have a new version up sometime today or tomorrow at the latest. Whether it'll be any better, who the Beep knows. :) I will try to get it fixed as quickly as possible.
