A young man in his tweens is working his way up to pilot of a Starship by flying a space copter taxi between ground and orbiting spacecraft.
His terror of being helpless, makes him a control freak and determined independent from higher authority also makes him reluctant to accept responsibility for others and possible public censure. A misconstrued non-verbal solicitation of gifts, setting up a gift table, results in little gifts he can never forget.
Four rather plain middle aged women are part of a 2,000 year mission to settle a distant planet, using cryogenics and genetic engineering to stay alive long enough. Yes, genetic engineering. And a long time.
Returning from an assignment, Rae and her crew encounter an unusual swarm of asteroids traversing the galaxy. Witnessing the destruction of a solar system by the swarm, they decide to investigate and discover that the phenomena is not natural and may very well pose a threat to the thousands of inhabited planets that comprise the Galactic Consortium.
In the middle of deep space, a colony ship is ravaged by something. A majority of those aboard are killed. They’re still years from their intended destination, the ship is near crippled, and the only ones left alive are teens and children. Will they manage to repair the ship enough to reach safety? Will the absence of adult supervision lead to anarchy? Content and Tag codes will be added/edited as needed.
A Swarm Cycle Story
This is the Swarm version of a story I once wrote under a different pen name. The names have been changed because I felt like changing them. Wendy doesn't mind sharing Dirk, but she refuses to let him leave her behind when the Confederacy picks him up. This is how she plays matchmaker and finds hubby his other woman...or should I say their other woman?
A Story in the Ruby Red Universe
This story will tie together the What and Why the people and organizations in Ruby Red are doing so many strange things. In general, each group have done what they think is best. Li Wu, The Baron and few others know the Earth's fate and have tried to put a course of action in-place. Steve is the missing link that will put religious mantras aside, replaced with solid social actions. Some might call Steve the 'Anti-Christ' but others will follow without derision. It will take a long time.
