This year, because missed the date to announce a valentines day contest, we're having an April fools writing contest.

Hopefully, I'm not too late with the announcement.

So I'm guessing these year's theme is: Fooling your valentine with a fake declaration of love and then revoking it come April Fool's day? ;)
What the hell is the point of having any of these contests, as the only way to actually read the so called stories requires a paid membership..
and most of what i have bothered to read in in the free sample portion in the last 4 contests has been absolute SHIT.

People who pay for Premier membership get privileges/features free members do not. That's true for any product. That's what they're paying for.
Reading and voting on contest stories is one of those privileges paying customers get. Eventually all the contest stories will be available in the free area, but for now they're only for paying customers. That makes perfect sense.
I think it is primarily to keep the voting among the paying customers. So someone can't sign up a dozen free accounts to vote.

Very simple: write something better and submit. All entries are welcome that fit the contest rules, and those are not very restrictive. Give it a try. At the very least it may give you some appreciation for those who do.
Any reason you can give as to why the bulk of the April Fools story contests, are stories that feature rape and felony crimes?
Seriously, any reason why this is?
Use your imagination - combine "April Fools" with "Adult Site" and what do you expect.
I looked at the codes and only read four of them, one of those four saw the designated targets avoid the trap set for them (and nailed one of those setting that trap) while I can't remember anything felonious at all with the other three.
I scanned the entries and descriptions. I didn't see the 'rape' tag, although one had the non-con and reluctant tags.
I think you fed a troll.
AJ
I think you fed a troll.
Or the person asking that question was referring to April Fool's competitions at other story sites.
