And I'm back

Posted at Updated:

I'd like to say I got any writing done. S-Sort of.... Mostly editing, if that. Between the sick that got passed to the whole family at the Christmas party and kids being home and all, well, I had next to no motivation when I did have the time. So, we'll see how things go. I'm a good few chapters ahead on stuff so there's that. I am one of those people, I gotta have the accountability to keep me motivated. I post before I'm done with a story because otherwise, I'll probably never finish. Posting the stories I'm working on keeps me not only working on them, but focused on them. So many times, I've wanted to drop the dragon reins and play with my assassin girls. Calsa's got even more fire in her soul for Alt to tame, while Higzashi is much darker and has poor little Shime all twisted up for his own perverse pleasures. (You can still read their rough drafts on my other account under Woofajuana, just remember they were written over a decade ago and things have changed.) But, I don't because I think maybe some of you are waiting for the next chapter of what I'm already working on, whether or not anyone actually is or even cares. So, that at least keeps me "focused" (I'm already working on 3 stories, is that really focus? For my ADHD brain? Yeah...) for whatever that's worth. I don't have a set number of words per day I gotta write. If I set myself a goal like that, I get frozen up. Now I have to make that many words! But if I think "I have to get this next chapter done before posting time," I could whip out a whole chapter without an issue, especially now that I'm focusing on shortening them. When I was writing "In the Enemy's Territory," I wrote one "chapter" with over 9k words. That's almost as long as the rough draft was for "Mongrels and Music" and that's a whole story! Since then, said chapter has been made into 4 and doing that could have saved me a great deal of time and stress back then. That was the whole reason I started with the werewolves, so I could make all these mistakes with them because dogs are very forgiving. Elves-- elves remember forever....

Speaking of elves, we're back! Starting the posting block with Kupper and Zigz having a grand old time at a party. You know, until he wakes up.... And this is where we say goodbye to the original rough draft.

On Friday, we find out what happens to S're... and the punks are about to get what they deserve. Never underestimate how fast a Q'Hu can walk. You can run all you like, you can even drive, but they'll catch up to you like the boogey man in your nightmares.

And on Saturday, Roan wakes up with a headache... and a long, convenient moment alone with his kitten. This is one of those spots we blow a kiss and a wink to the previous path and go skipping through the woods. Don't worry, we'll meet up with the path again later, but Roan has a few lessons to teach his elf, and the first one is that she doesn't tie knots very well.
