Just in time for Spring! Or St. Patrick’s Day. Or the Ideas of March. Your task is to make a story of exactly one sentence in length which contains the ten words in this month’s Bananagram crossword.
The words are: VIM, DAM, SKY, NOVA, END, DID, MAN, AX, MORNS, and YEN.
You are allowed to add letters to the beginning and/or the end of these words. END, for example, could become FEND, or FENDER, or ENDIVE.
Send your completed sentence to me and I will attempt to illustrate the story and post it to SoL. You’re also welcome to supply your own illustrations. (SoL rules apply.)
Happy Valentine’s Day to all! I am beginning a bit of a vacation today (February 14, 2025). I expect to resume posting daily illustrated flash stories sometime before the end of March.
This month’s Bananagram is underway. The game involves creating a story of a single sentence which includes these six words: Rules, Foot, Zone, Tie, Radio, and Tiger.

So far there are two single sentence stories, one of them created and illustrated by Microsoft’s CoPilot AI.
A reader rightly points out that the story I posted today, “Christmas Pie,” is a little on the dark side. While probably fewer than 5% of my stories are somewhat dark, perhaps I should have a way of warning readers about the degree of darkness they might encounter. Would tagging a story “Caution” be sufficient? Any thoughts or ideas?
