Garlic Knots

Posted at

Several people have asked about 'Garlic Knots' mentioned in chapter 4 of GBF. They are a simple and delicious side for any meal. To make them, you can purchase a pre-made pizza crust from the grocery store (example is the Pillsbury brand) and open it out on the counter over parchment paper. Brush the dough with melted butter and then sprinkle (to taste) garlic powder on as well. Fold the dough over on itself so the butter and garlic powder is inside. Then with a pizza cutter, carve off strips of dough and roll between your (washed) hands to make long, skinny, strips of dough. Then twist the dough into a simple knot. No need to be fancy about it, unless you want it that way. Place on a cookie sheet. You can add more butter and garlic powder on top if you wish. Bake as directed in the oven. Enjoy!

Good Stuff.

Okay, so I admit that posting chapters for GBF have not been on a regular basis and that I mentioned 'life stuff' happening. As we often know, those words usually mean something unpleasant. Not this time! I'm thrilled and honored to say that my cousin had a baby boy and I was asked to be his Godmother. So I was busy doing stuff that the job requires. Getting adorable little outfits and other things a beautiful baby needs. I was told that on the box of diapers, when it says "Up to 10 pounds", that is NOT the load capacity! My sister and I painted his room to look like 'The 100 Acre Wood' with all the characters, Winnie the Poof, Piglet, Owl, etc. (Eeyore is actually smiling!) As for the story? Chapter 4 has been sent to Pixel the Cat for his review and when I get it back, I will post. Life is beautiful. - Krista

GBF: New Chapter Soon.

Hola! The next chapter of "GBF" is slightly delayed due to "life stuff" happening. However, I will be sending it to my wonderful editor, Pixel the Cat within the next few days. In the meantime, there are a LOT of new stories to enjoy from the April Fools contest that you can enjoy! (No, I didn't enter the contest.)

On a personal note, I want to offer my deepest thanks to the people who keep SOL up and running for us to take part in, as readers and as writers. I have been reading stories here for almost a decade and a lot of what I see here is MUCH BETTER than anything published by authors with physical books available for purchase at a store. The people running SOL work long and hard, often with little thanks, except for our gratitude. They face many challenges that range from paying the bills, to over-zealous (and very minor) government folks who have some axe to grind. You guys are the BEST.

Abrazos y besos! - Krista

New Story Soon.

Happy Spring, Everyone! As you know, SOL is having a "April Fools" contest. I did come up with an idea for a plot, but realized that even with assistance from Pixel the Cat, there was no way I could make it a stand alone story that I could post anonymously. Why? Part of the plot involves characters from a previous story of mine. That would disqualify the story from the contest. But I still had fun writing it and I hope that you enjoy reading it. You should see it within the next day or so.
