Stupid Boy - Junior Year Update

Posted at

I went and did it. When I took a break to write other things (Little Tony and Getting it Wrong) I needed to get away from David and friends. What I didn't realize was it would give me a chance to step back and come up with a ton of material.

I've written 24 chapters (about 300,000 words) and only gotten through the first of November in my time line. At this rate the book will be over a 100 chapters long. I've been told by more than a few readers that they don't want to wait that long, so I made the decision to split the book into two like I did Freshman year.

The goal is to have it ready to start posting by early fall.

Thanks for the patience.

Getting it Wrong - A new Do Over Story

Posted at

I've always been a big fan of the Do Over story. This is my second attempt with this story. The first attempt I sent out to a group of my readers because I wanted to see if I was on track. Thank goodness I did, because I think I broke ever rule and in their opinion a half finished first book.

I took their notes and rewrote Getting it Wrong. This will be the first in a trilogy - Getting it Done and Getting it Right.

I wrote this while I took a break from Stupid Boy. I also wrote Little Tony and Pia while I got my head back into SB. I've started two other books. One is the sword and sorcerer fantasy world. Between that and science fiction that was about all I read when I was younger. In the next week or so I will offer a look at the beginning and see if I am on the right track - much like I did with Getting it Wrong.

The other book I tried to pawn off the idea on a couple of authors, but they chickened out. The premise is a boy has an evil sister who torments him. He finally has enough and decides to sell her on Craigslist. You can sell everything on Craigslist - Right? There are two ways this could go - very dark or funny. I picked funny and I think you will like it. It is bringing out my inner Mark Twain. Small town likable boy who seems to get himself into trouble.

So before I go off on a tangent about how my job and family is more important that writing... lets get back on track.

Check out Getting it Wrong on Saturday.

Stupid Boy - Sophomore Year is Ending

Posted at

Tomorrow will end Sophomore Year. Laz was so concerned about internet traffic to find out how the Tami and David saga would end he has warned everyone that the site might crash tomorrow. How he knows the exact time is a mystery to me.

I just finished Chapter 13 of Junior Year, so we are hard at work on it. The plan is for it to be ready by the end of summer.

I have a new book coming out starting next Saturday called Getting it Wrong. It is a Do Over book and the first part of a trilogy. I floated an initial version to some of my readers and received A LOT of feedback. So I went back and rewrote it. I'm told it is much better, so I'm hopeful you will all enjoy it.

Thanks

Stupid Boy - Need Some Help

David has become a little bit of a adrenaline junkie. I'm looking for ideas of things he might do. Think in terms of a bucket list of activities you would want to do if you were 17. Things like skydiving, jet skiing, kart racing, or snowboarding. If he might die doing it - even better!

Thanks in advance.
