Easter Egg / ARC Readers

Posted at

Because this week is Halloween I've added an easter egg in my story ...

Also, for my advance readers, you may want to read this chapter on SOL because there are changes from the original storyline.

Easter Egg
I added a new character and as a nod to my favorite horror movie franchise named him Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th series. I needed a scary lawyer and Jason used to scare the crap out of me ;-)

ARC - SPOILER ALERT -
In the original version, David hires Cal Bell, Pam's father, to be his lawyer. Several readers were shocked that he would even consider using him after what he did to David Junior Year. When my editors agreed, I took everyone's advice. The SOL version has David firing Cal and hiring a new lawyer.

Thanks for reading.

ARC - Senior Year Part III

I'm starting to learn writers lingo - ARC stands for Advanced Readers Copy. I'm sure your all happy for me. ;-)

I've received a lot of emails wanting to know when Part III will be ready. I wish I knew. What's the saying about best-laid plans? My muse decided she didn't like my outline for the end of the book and has taken me off into a new direction. The original goal was to have it done by the end of November. Now I think it will be after the first of the year.

The good news is that my muse is right and the book is better because of her suggestions. I've learned to listen. That happens when you get older. You learn women are ALWAYS right. The sooner you learn that the better your life will be. Either that or we give up. Single guys ... ignore this advice. You still need to be trained. ;-)

And so it begins

Another Stupid Boy Story has just been put in the cue. It gave me a moment to reflect. I want to thank SOL and Laz for giving me a place to practice my craft. Writing had always been a pipe dream for me.

I also want to thank all the readers who have suffered through my earlier stuff. I was told that I absolutely had to get an editor ... thank goodness I listened. My current team of X of Dallas, Bud Ugly, Zom, and TheMikeBomb are just the latest of a long line of people that have made my stuff readable. I personally think they do a great job.

Enjoy! I look forward to hearing from you and what you think of the new story.

Women - don't bother to read this ...

... I have a feeling only guys will appreciate what I'm about to share.

Here in Florida, we have a critter called Love Bugs. This time of year they swarm and when you drive they get smashed all over your car. I had a swarm invade my front porch and several of them got into the house and died all around my front door.

Being lazy, I grabbed my leaf blower to clean off the porch. Then I thought ... hmmm. No need to go get a broom and dustpan for the inside of the house. I'll just open the front door and blow them out.

I found the greatest invention ever! You no longer have to sweep your hard surfaces. The blower did a fantastic job. My dog was ecstatic when it blew out three balls he'd lost under the couch. The best part was that it took me all of five minutes to do the whole house.

So, next time the little lady tells you you have to sweep, wait until she leaves, and then grab the leaf blower. The best part is, it's a lot of fun.

PS Senior Year Part II will start posting next Saturday.

Quick Update

While I am dealing with the insanity that is Florida during a hurricane ... (already no gas and the grocery stores shelves are bare) ... I thought I would give you a quick update.

Even though I don't think we will take a direct hit, it will mean significant amounts of rain and possibly wind. Wouldn't be surprised if we lose power for a few days if history is any indication. We should be fine though.

Still on track to release Senior Year Part II on SOL October 5th. Everyone that read the prerelease version and my editing team has been getting it ready for you to read. I want to thank everyone for finding 95% of my goofs - which there are many.

I've written 21 chapters of Part III. The book seems to have taken on a life of its own and looks to be larger than I thought it would be. I'd hoped to be done at the end of November, but don't know if I will make it or not. When I have a better idea I will let everyone know.

Enjoy your weekend.
