It's been a more hectic week than I would have liked, but the writing is still progressing.

The next chapter of The Bitch will be ready to post on Sunday.

I've just submitted a new story to the queue for posting.

It's not the kind of writing you've seen from me on this site. It's short, for one thing - just 2300 words. No time for complex characters and backstories and plot development.

Check the tags before you read it.

Looking forward to hearing what you think. In any case, it was fun to try my hand at something different.

I'm making progress on Chapter 35 of The Bitch, but it isn't done yet. It will be posted the first weekend in September.

I do want to honour my pledge to post something weekly, and I do have something to share this weekend. It's something very different from anything else I've written. Very short. Not my usual style or subject matter. I'm just doing final editing on it now, and will share it with you all on Sunday.

The next chapter of The Bitch will post tomorrow morning.

It is a slightly shorter chapter than the last few, because I'm doing something I haven't done for a bit. One of you, the readers, messaged me to say that you haven't heard from Cheryl for a while, and asked if I would consider doing a chapter from her point of view. The week after the visit to the McDonald home seemed like a good opportunity to do this.

So look for some words from Cheryl tomorrow.

A few updates:

The next chapter of The Bitch will be posted on Sunday. I've also been reposting the earlier chapters, with a few minor changes and with some typos removed. As I write, I periodically go back and change something - but I don't usually bother reposting the affected chapter. So I thought it would be good to work through the whole thing and get it up in its latest version. That will continue over the coming weeks.

I've also started work on the sequel to It Started With Christmas. No estimated pub date on that, but I'll keep you posted.

Along the way, likely because of my undiagnosed ADD, I've been scribbling down some other ideas. But you won't see any of that until it's done or close to done.

Speaking of new things, I've almost finished a very short, and very different (for me) story that I'll have up in the next couple of weeks.

I think that since I started posting again, I've only missed one week - and I have some material ahead now - so I am going to say publicly what I've been doing, and that is posting a chapter a week, sometime on Sunday.
