LargePDF.com update

First of all: Thanks to all of you who helped me with this problem. Being a newbie (wet behind ears, green, whatever) in self-publishing business I needed to learn the right terms like DMCA, copyright infringement, etc. - and the ways accessing the problem.

It wasn't about the money: My works are and will be freely available here at SOL, I owe that much to this community - It was more like setting a limit, or a principle. This is MY work and it's up to me to decide how it's made available. Most likely my commissions from Amazon will never let me give up my work - unless someone decides to make a Hollywood -production out of my story ;) Well, probably not even then.

For those interested, I can tell the steps that I did:
- Immediately I contacted LargePDF.com via their own DMCA form. Despite promises on the pages, nothing happened and there was no response.
- Contacted Amazon - but most likely not the correct place or then they just didn't care as LargePDF.com wasn't running inside AWS.
- Used an IP location service to figure out their ISP, which was in this case Cloudflare, Inc. Made an abuse report (DMCA) to them about LargePDF.com
--> They responded, that they are only offering a reverse proxy, pass-through security service - but they also forwarded my report to the responsible hosting provider, which was www.worldstream.nl, abuse contact being: abuse@worldstream.nl
- I sent the mail I had kept on sending also to them.

This far there hasn't been any response neither from LargePDF nor WorldStream - but the important thing is that the story was removed from the service. Maybe it would have been easier just not to care, since the thing just pissed me off and took away some of own time that I would have liked to use for writing.

Asking advice...

Since I just found my book for free in https://largepdf.com. As I don't remember posting it there nor giving them any permission to have it there, I'm asking you advice what to do? I did send them a request to remove it from their selection - hope that it was the right thing to do. OK, I added a link to official copyright notice, just to make sure that I DO have the rights to that book.

Hidden Heritage Book I coming to end

Some time today chapter 18 will be posted and the last chapter of 'The Guardians' will come out next Friday. I want to thank all you people for your comments and encouragement. Without you or this site I would not be doing this silly writing thing, that much is certain.

Some time this autumn I start posting 'Collateral Damage Book II', once I first have time to send the last chapters for the final proofreading. There are some plans for book III for that series, too, but I'll put most effort to 'Hidden Heritage'. After all, there was a long period when I was sure that 'Collateral Damage' -trilogy will will never be finished.

...and book II of this 'Hidden Heritage'? If - IF - it turns out to be as long as book I it's mostly written. There are at least few twists that I need to add to the story before 'grande finale' of that book II.

Re-posting chapter 10

Just heard that there was something odd with Chapter 10 of 'The Guardians'. Re-posting it and the chapter should already be in the queue.

Posting 'The Guardians' a day early...

...because tomorrow is Midsummer's Eve. Midsummer's Eve. Here in Finland it means that you should be: At your summer cottage, drunk, warming your sauna, more drunk, going into hot sauna and into the cold lake, even more drunk, eating the sausage you burned in your grill, even more more drunk, going into sauna again, starting to seriously drink in order to get drunk, etc. Add some serious arguing with your best friend, getting best friends forever with your friend again. Only in case you want to face to hangover the following day do not go to the lake with your rowing boat.

If you are unlucky and stay alive you'll face the worst hangover ever the following Saturday and by the evening you agree with your friend that the rainy and cold Midsummer's Eve was the best one ever. Probably, as you remember only bits and pieces. So, Happy Midsummer's Eve to everybody!
