Today is the first posting of a new story. It is not to be confused with Ninth Grade. This is more of a drama. Imagine waking up in an indigent rest home with no resources, no one left alive that cares, then realizing not only are you awake and alert but growing healthier to the point of appearing to be younger. This is the story of Rick and Marsha. And no it is not Rick of Ninth Grade.


It is set in the near future but the only science fiction is things like your car sending you an email that its oil needs changed, oh yeah it is self driving, so it is going into town by itself unless you need a ride. I hope you enjoy the ride.

Very poor reasons I put together Chapter 40 in haste. Something about missing a flight. Anyway one kind reader pointed out that I had missed a few stories that I had my hero read along the way. About 19 of them. (Hang my head in shame).

P.S. I just remembered one I picked up as missed, then forgot to correct. Shadows on the wall of a cave is from the The Republic by Plato. But everyone knows that old tale.

Ninth grade is now finished with Chapter 40 listing all the novels referenced as nighttime reading.
I will be finishing, editing then posting another story, Ever and Always.

When that is complete I will be writing Tenth grade. I have learned a lot about writing as my first attempt was in progress. I hope to build from there.

While it is the end of the ninth grade for Ricky, it is not the end of his saga. I will be taking several months off to start the next story. There will be another story of a different flavor being posted in between this and Tenth Grade, Hey who said I was good at original titles.
There will be a chapter 40 next week listing all the books by title and author that Ricky has read. There will also be a few notes about some of the people he met along the way. These are both real and fictional.
Questions remain, have we found out Mum's deepest secrets? Does Dad have a past we don't know about? Will Ricky end up owning his own Space-X? Will Mary be a stewardess? Or a roller skating waitress? Will she ever give up her tiara? Inquiring minds want to know.

Followers of the Rick Jackson Saga might have noticed his hometown of Bellefontaine, Ohio in the news. It is sadly about a mother killing her three children. It occurred within a block of where my real Mum lives. What a sad event.

Before anyone asks, the only similarity between Ricks Mum and my real life Mum is, that they are both Mum's.
